Dena Beratta

I am a wife and mother of three, a writer and photographer, and a certified Infinite Light Yoga teacher recognized by Yoga Alliance as a Registered Yoga Teacher with 200 hours of training (RYT 200).

I took my first yoga class over 20 years ago, but didn't "get it" until I started practicing regularly in 2007. That's when I realized that I had found a place where I would always belong—within myself, where I felt complete joy and peace, and where I could recharge from the hectic pace and chaos of living in our society. After trying, learning from, and deepening my practice with several different styles and teachers of yoga, I found Tony. Have you heard the old saying, "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear?" I found Tony by chance and at the perfect time. I was looking for a Yoga Teacher Training program and he was launching one. I enrolled in Tony Riposo's Infinite Light Yoga School and graduated with my 200-hour teacher certification in 2009.

Through my classes, I hope to convey that the practice of yoga is available and accessible for every person and every body, and in addition to countless health benefits, it is a wonderful gateway to self-discovery, inner peace and joy, as well as creativity and productivity. The practice of yoga enhances all other areas of life, and I am excited to share my knowledge and love of the practice

I offer a class based on the principles of classical yoga. I will guide you through centering, pranayama (breathing), asanas (postures), and relaxation, encouraging you to find your "edge," working at your own level and honoring your body in its current state of health. It's my hope that you will not feel intimidated by yoga and that you will give it a try regardless of your age and fitness level. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.

In addition to teaching classes, I facilitate practice teaching sessions and help to mentor upcoming teachers in the ILY Yoga Teacher Training program.
